stretch marks
It’s a boy! Due 4/15/09 asked:

I am almost 19 weeks pregnant and am starting to get a few small stretch marks on my lower belly. Did any of these products work for you to prevent and reduce stretch marks during pregnancy??

If not, what did you use to help prevent and reduce stretch marks?

it didn’t work to prevent them, but it did work to reduce them, i didn’t get them as bad as i thought i would and i still used it after the baby and they were fading away and now that i’m pregnant again i’m still using it.

Use Bio-Oil it works great even if you have stretch marks it reduces them. I notice i had 3 small ones and there def starting to vanish.

no. nothing worked for me because unfortunatley stretch marks are hereditary. chances are if your mom had them, you will have them too. it is because of your skin type and how well it stretches.
still lather on the lotions like mad but dont get your heart set on them working if you have a history of stretch marks in your family. ( i put lotion on my belly from day one and still got a good amount of stretch marks) dont forget to put lotion on your love handles, boobs( yes they stretch too) , butt, and tops of your thighs

I tried every stretch mark and scar cream during and after my pregnancy and most of them didnt work. Could have been because my stretch marks are darker than my actual skin. I think they work better if you are a lighter skin tone and your stretch marks arent quite visible to begin with. Its one of those beautiful things that you kinda just have to deal with, You will either get them or you wont. Make sure you keep your stomach nice and moisturized as that will help. Put lotion on your baby bump twice a day if you can manage. Good luck

Here’s what my OB told me. I used a variety of creams and still ended up with horrible stretch marks. He told me, that they are hereditary. If you are meant to get them, you will. Regardless of how much cream you use.

I used it all during my 1st pregnancy and got no stretch marks on my belly but got loads of them on my breasts, hips, thighs and butt.
I am 34 weeks tomorrow and I am still using that lotion every day and night and so far none on my belly. But my old ones are darker and and longer and the lotion is not heloing those ones.
